Museum's history

The Museum has been managed since 1978 by an association called "Les Amis de la Vigne et du Vin d'Anjou".

 

The building and the collections belong to the local authorities, the "Communauté de Communes des Coteaux du Layon".

A few important dates

1978 : creation of the association called "Les Amis de la Vigne et du Vin d'Anjou". The museum is located in the old residence to "La Noiraie" in Saint Lambert du Lattay.

 

1983 : the Museum moves to the Cellars of la Coudraye built at the end of the 19th century.

 

1986 : recongnized as a "Museum controlled" by the Direction of the "Musées de France".

 

1996 : the collections in the museum are being purchased by the town council of Saint Lambert du Lattay.

 

1997 : a convention is signed with Maine et Loire (a French department).

 

2000 : the "Communauté de Communes du Val d'Hyrôme" becomes the owners of the building and the collections in the Museum.

 

August 2002 : the museum becomes of "Musée de France".

 

2005 : Due to a chage of local authorities, the building and the collections now belong to "la Communauté de Communes des Coteaux du Layon".
